Touring Europe for 19 Days

Tonight, the plane will depart to KLIA from Penang at 9:45pm before the long haul direct flight to Heathrow Airport in London, arriving tomorrow morning. I will spend about 11 hours on board the flight and spend Christmas during winter in Vatican City, Rome, Italy. I have sponsored my 2 younger sisters for this long-awaited trip to Europe since 2007. I shall be visiting 7 countries - United Kingdom, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and France. Just pray that my big luggage with food and clothing will arrive safely and not pilfered at the airport by coveting staff. Also pray that I will eventually return to Penang safely with all my items intact. This trip easily costs me $20k for the 3 of us, not including extra expenses for food and tips, souvenirs, etc.

Seafood Buffet Dinner at Parkroyal Hotel

In a short while, I shall be going to Parkroyal Hotel along Batu Feringghi for seafood buffet dinner with my friend, mum and sis. It costs around $100 per person with slipper lobsters, scallops, fresh oysters, prawns, curry crabs, fish, etc. It starts at 6:30pm and ends at 10:30pm. Hope to have a fine time dining there with my family and friend. Now, I can have some privacy blogging away from prying eyes of people I don't like. Some may get jealous of your good fortune and opportunities of the socialite life, but who cares anyway? May fly down to Johor Bahru this coming Thursday for a meeting with my business colleague.

Stayed at Genting Highlands

I was in Genting Highlands last week on Friday and stayed at First World Hotel. Also saw Fantastica 2 show with a humorous ballet performance after set dinner of abalone, shark's fin soup, etc at Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant on the first floor. Had a good time enjoying the fresh mountain air and I specially requested for mountain view. We stayed on the 27th floor of Tower 2. So far, I have been to Genting Highlands 21 times and stayed at all the 5 hotels there including Awana Genting on the lower side of the mountain slopes. Now it is time to prepare to send out 100 calendars to our clients and potential clients.

Came Back from KL

I just came back from Kuala Lumpur last night after spending 2 days there for business. For the record, I just paid the first instalment to Trafford for my book to be published sometime between January and February next year where I will be given 10 complimentary copies. Trafford is a print on demand service and they don’t print your books to be stocked up in bookshelves of the stores. My book will be listed on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Today is a weekend, I would love to slumber for long hours under my pure silk duvet. Life is good and abundant for everyone. Too tired to go to Langkawi, so we decided to skip this trip and stay at home lazing around.

Went to Melaka Yesterday

Melaka is almost like a mini Singapore - well planned, plenty of greenness and shrubs, clean and newly developed. We went to a club yesterday for an interview. It took about 2.5 hours to reach there from KL, where we set out at 7:00am in the morning. Hopefully, we can get the project and this will be constant work for our Bangladeshi workers. They have gone home and come back to work with us and they know that they cannot get such good benefits elsewhere. There is also personal freedom and full pay even though it rains and no work is done.

The Poor cannot help the poor

The church wants people to go into missionary work, but they never emphasize on the working group to contribute to its coffers. The poor cannot help the poor. It is commonsense that only the rich can help the poor. Which is why we need to work hard to earn more so that we can help people in our lives and to donate some to church. Today I had Indian food served on banana leaves and ginger tea. It was very affordable with air con comfort after church service.

Down with Flu

I have seen the doctor twice as of yesterday and hope that my flu will heal quickly. This time round, I asked for Benadryl, a cough mixture that makes one drowsy to rest and recover quicker. Had a quick lunch at New World Park since the other places were full and I could not find a car park. Also bought Long Johns for the coming winter trip to Europe this December 2013. I just hope that the trip will be enjoyable with less bickering with my sisters. It is not easy when one does not have a choice with traveling partners but to accept those who can go with valid passports.

Back from KL

I came back from KL 2 days ago, having spent a day in Johor Bahru and some shopping for winter clothes in Johor Premium Outlets. Spent more than $500 there for a single day of shopping before driving back to Senai Airport. JPO is on the way to the airport in Kulaijaya. This is one of the best shopping deals I got and there are no regrets. Today is Monday and I subscribed to Hell in a Cell pay per view on Astro for WWE. Just blog here for a short while before resuming my viewing of Hell in a Cell with John Cena back from surgery.

Going to JB

I shall be going to KL with my colleague tomorrow and then fly to Johor Bahru from KLIA LCCT via Air Asia for the day's meeting. Just rented a Hertz car for about $150 per day, to drive to the site for the meeting. I have booked the plane tickets last night and paid using my credit card. Compared to Firefly, Air Asia is about $1,000 cheaper than the turbo propeller plane that is much smaller by comparison for the same destination. The flight is scheduled at 8.25am on Friday and we have to wake up much earlier by at least 3-4 hours in advance so as not to miss the flight and to beat the rush hour work traffic jam in KL.

Just Got Paid USD25.00

This morning, as I woke up, my client had paid me USD 25 into my Paypal account. This is for blogging work done 2 days ago. I still maintain and update my several blogs for revenue now and then. The income is just a bonus as writing online has been my passion since August of 2006. I love my work, and virtual assistance offered now and then as potential clients email me for the quotation. Now I get paid USD50 monthly for commenting on a high traffic blog in the U.S. and get to read well written articles by journalists and people of stature, those who are already successful in their own rights. Maintaining Blogs is Hard Work

I just came back from KL last night, dropped by my parents' house to collect some letters and went back home to my apartment for a good rest. And this morning, here I am blogging again to refresh my blogs with new content. My working life is colorful - lots of traveling and seeing places with the benefit of working at home, either in KL or Penang. Mind you, maintaining blogs is certainly hard work and not cut out for everyone. I have seen active blogs die out naturally because there are no more sponsored posts to take up and maintaining them is just too expensive and not worth the time and effort.

Your retirement has to be planned early and not do it at the last minute.

If you have children, then good for you! They could be an asset provided they contribute financially for your upkeep and take care of you in return. However, most parents won't burden their children with monthly allowance to be given to them and rather strike it out on their own. They will continue to work hard as long as they are able to keep up with the pace and momentum.

Today I have 4 more opportunities to blog for revenue. Now busy with blogging and writing as I take up those opps. You have to be really diligent and determine to see through that the opportunities are taken up and work at them for your monthly income. Google loves fresh content and will rank any page or website higher if they are frequently updated with new unique content. Earning money is never easy peasy, otherwise everyone on the streets will be carrying a genuine Prada handbag and have lots of money in their bank accounts. I love pets, especially small dogs like pomeranians, dachshund, poodles, chihuahua, and the like. Small toy dogs are easy to keep and they make good pets. I used to spend eons of time at my aunt's house and playing with her 2 dogs. She has a big garden for the dogs to run around and exercise their limbs.

Going to KL

I shall be going to KL this Wednesday for business again. Will follow my colleague who will drive down for the journey. It will most probably be at night when the weather is not too hot unlike the afternoon sun with sweltering heat during the day. My boss is nice most of the time, working hard and helming the company to support so many people, including his relatives, family and workers. It is not easy to find another person like him, who is selfless, generous and think of others first.

Everyone has to Work

Yes, work cannot fill the void – which can only be replaced by Jesus. But all of us need to work to support ourselves. Many people are unable to work or maintain their jobs, having to job hop from one place to another. This does not auger well for the future. Many women have to depend on their husbands for financial support and cannot work themselves, with no qualifications. Unless, of course their take up job as a McDonald’s service crew at $5 per hour. But how many are will to slave so much for such little income, unless you are a student and not a tai tai, traveling overseas all the time and spending other people’s money?

Withdraw over $400 from my Paypal

I got paid in Euro 100.00 to my paypal for a German client for work done last month. This is more than RM400 in my local currency and I promptly withdrew the amount yesterday to my Public bank. Since August 2006, I have earned RM 45,500 for blogging and virtual assistance work to date. And this is done on a part time basis. This averages to RM 542 per month earning money in my own capacity. Much better than working in retail where the hours a long and boring with a meager income. I hope to save enough for my retirement down the road as I don't have pension like dad or allowances from children like mum.

Flying Down with Air Asia

I will be flying down with Air Asia to Johor Bahru for an interview for a sports court project with IJM. The cost of airfare is RM706.00 for 2 persons on board with air port tax and choosing of seats. Then we will rent a car for RM 165 from Hertz which has already been booked earlier. The plane departs at 7:15am in the morning, arriving at 8:25am and on the same day depart at 5:30pm, arriving in Penang 1 hour 15 minutes later. After the interview, I hope to visit Johor Premium Outlets selling well known brands for the retail at 25% to 65% discount. In my line of work, frequent travelling is required to accompany my colleague who helms the small business.

Created an Invoice on Paypal

I just successfully created an invoice on Paypal to request for payment. This is my first time and it was straight forward and easy peasy. Nothing complicated and the Paypal platform was user-friendly. I created an invoice for USD 50.00 payment on a monthly basis for commented on a high traffic blog in the U.S.

By the way, I just came back from Kuala Lumpur last night by car, having traveled in the late evening and reach home by 9:00pm. Gave my parents October's allowance and then headed back to my condo for a good break. I was too tired to do anything else and promptly rested in bed. Well, my life now consists of work and lots or traveling as part of my job. Not having kids gives me the freedom to travel often for the job, but I shudder to think of my future when I am retired and alone again.

Now in Kuala Lumpur

Someone claimed that I have the 'best job' in the region. I beg to differ. The best job is when you call the shots all the time and are your own boss. I am just a business partner who still have to take instructions and carry out those tasks. The only consolation is that I work in a home office either in Penang or Kuala Lumpur. Right now I am in KL and will return to Penang tomorrow. Yesterday, visited 3 places using the GPS to guide us; otherwise we will not be able to visit 3 different places that are far away from each other. Samsung S4 also comes with a voice navigated GPS which we just discovered by accident. Technology certainly makes our lives so much easier.

I Love My Job

For most people a JOB is 'Just Over Broke'. But for me, well, I can say that I enjoy my dream job very much because I get to work from a home office. It is true. They pay you just enough that you won't leave and Not more! If they can get away with paying the least and have you do the most work, they will certainly do it. This is how companies cut costs - by having you perform the most work at the minimum pay to keep you there. Well, if you are enterprising, then it might be time to start considering working for yourself in a home office just like me.

To Get Money out of CPF

I have long written to Singapore's CPF to request for my funds to be released earlier, due to my condition. I have to depend on myself and the help of a friend to see lawyers and get the letters certified by a notary public before sending them to Singapore. As of today, I only have exactly 13 days to get this done. Deadline on 1st October. Luckily I have the help of a close friend to run errands for matters such as this. Now I know who I can count on for help. This person is a God-sent.

Got Paid 50.00 Euros

I emailed my invoice to a client and promptly got paid as 50% deposit down payment for 100 rows of short description of retailers in Europe of about 40 words each description. The total contract sum is 100.00 Euros, with 1 Euro for each row of description. This is for a German client and his English is not impeccable either. Hence, he needs some help from people like yours truly. I finished the work yesterday and emailed for the balance payment. I guess they need time to vet through the work submitted via Google docs as there are around 5-6 other writers just like me. I guess Germans are quite creative and enterprising as compared to their neighbouring countries.

Working Hard

I have to work hard for my money. Just cannot afford to laze around doing nothing as it is not my nature to be idle. I am always on the lookout for more work online since I work in a home office as of February 2004. Oh yes, I just received a call from Astro for special channel viewing of WWE Night of Champions live on Monday at 8:00am, repeats 3:30pm, 8:00pm on Monday and 7:00pm on Tuesday. It will cost additional $19.95 for this special seasonal viewing. I am a true blue Chinese and all Chinese are very hardworking, motivated and diligent. If you live in Hong Kong, it is common to find people working at 2 jobs: one in the day time and another one at night.

Working at Home Alone is Good But...

Working alone at home is good but can be boring at times. There is no interaction with other people or colleagues other than my boss. It is ideal for many people as they don't like dealing with colleagues that stab you in the back or badmouth you to superiors. It is very good for me, but just that at times, I miss the human interaction and drama; which could be a source of unnecessary stress. Therefore, here I am working all alone on my laptop in a room with a bed and air-con with nice satin curtains to shield off the sunlight and everything is squeaky quiet except for the tapping on the keyboard by my fingers.

Well, I guess, this is the most ideal situation for me as I can be more productive without all the disruptions that you get in an office. If you work too fast, your colleagues hate you for it as they cannot keep up the pace and wouldn't want to spoil the market. But as a partner in this company, I give my best and work conscientiously every day from the time I wake up till I log off for dinner.

Blogging can be Fun

I am having lots of fun blogging and writing my thoughts on the world wide web where I can have world's attention at my fingertips. It started out as a hobby initially, which has progressed into monetization of my blogs where I get to earn some revenue out of my activities. I can blog about anything - food that I take, places that I visit, my personal thoughts and rants, sponsored posts, etc. Because it is fun, I managed to maintain all my blogs since August 2006 - yes, that is a good 7 years long and still going strong.

But blogging has it limitations. Don't go overboard by criticizing your employer, the government, or people in authority as it does not pay to be put into jail or get a hefty fine for doing so. Just blog on safe topics such as what you have eaten, and the like in order to play safe, and not to be sorry. That is because, whatever you have typed, it will be found online by authorities who scour the internet for seditious comments or posts.

Finally, My Housing Loan is Approved

Finally, my housing loan is approve by not one bank but 2 banks. For the first bank, Hong Leong, it took me 1+ months to get it approved with repeat emails to send in documents and personal information, offering BLR-2.25%. For the second bank RHB, it only took exactly 2 weeks before it was approved with BLR-2.35%. Of course, RHB's offer is very attractive, since I pay 0.1% less as compared to Hong Leong Bank.

Moreover, RHB has already prepared the offer letter for me to sign since Friday and I will go with this bank as they are more lenient and easy going with their loan offer. Hong Leong bank is too calculative and more expensive if I were to take up the loan from them. Finally, I can buy my second property with some help from the banks for investment purposes. Just after I signed the S&P, the price of property went up another 10% due to the hike in petrol prices and all other things.

I Love to Read and Write

Writing is my hobby. The more I write, the better I become at writing. I also buy newspapers every day and monthly magazines to read and improve my knowledge and widen my experience. Reading is the best activity one can do during one's free time and an ideal escapade in a secluded bedroom, all curled up under my silk comforter with a book or magazine in hand. You will miss out a lot on life if you don't read and write. It keeps me mentally alert and knowledge is power. I believe in lifelong learning and will pursue this activity for a very long time to come. It has helped to widen my vocabulary, improved my style of writing and of course my not-so-perfect grammar.

Bought The Edge Magazine

My sister's friend plays the share market by buying The Edge and Personal Money Magazines to track the financial data weekly. The Edge costs $5 each and is published on a weekly basis. Sometimes she makes $50 to $100 or more by playing shares online during her retirement years. This will surely keep her mentally active and helps prevent Alzheimer's Disease during the twilight years. The Edge is well written and information, hence the higher cost as compared to the daily newspapers costing only $1.20 each. I read both the Star and The Straits Times as much as possible to keep track on what's happening on a daily basis locally.

I Love to Blog

I love to blog and make money out of it. That is the benefit of keeping an active blog that you can monetize. This is a win-win basis for both bloggers and sponsors. I have done paid posts in the past and earned some good income from it. The revenue adds up to my total income for the year every December. I keep a financial record on Excel to trace my income and expenditure for an overall net income every month if possible. And I get to do all this in a home office that is equipped with an internet broadband connectivity, digital camera, multi-functional printer that can scan, copy and print in colours, etc. I love what I am doing right now and hope to continue on this activity for a long time to come.

You need to work with your hands, and lift a finger, so that you will not come to poverty and become hungry. The Bible has already taught us that those people who refuse to lift a finger, will go hungry. Worse that hungry is to be in poverty with no roof over your head or nice clothes to wear. An extreme example is the vagabond you see walking in the streets and survive by eating the leftover food of clients at food cafes or hawker centres. You also need to have some skill and a sound mind to be able to work on the computer and earn an income now and then.

I just withdrew $400+ from my Paypal this morning. This is like occasional allowance from milking the internet now and then. Of course, I also top up by writing articles for a repeat client from Singapore. There are just so many things to do each and every day, that sometimes it may overwhelm you. But you need to do wise time management in order to achieve all the important tasks each day. I also read a lot to spruce up my English by observing the writing style of well-known and accomplished writers. I am just grateful to my father for the sound education that all the Tan sisters got in their impressionable schooling years. Hence, now it payback time and my parents are retired now.

Just got paid in S$42 for 6 articles about Singapore that I completed this morning. Each article is 500 to 550 words. I am quite happy doing this drop shipping where I get orders and inform my drop shipper to send and deliver the t-shirts on my behalf. This morning, I researched, wrote and translated a medical article into Malay for a medical specialist requiring virtual assistance for her fertility treatment service. Making Money on My Own

I have a full time employment to work in a home office. At the same time, whenever I am free, I will scout around for work to earn a little extra from the internet. This is like milking the internet which has been my cash cow since years ago. Uncle passed away

My aunt's hubby, or 'ah tiau' has passed away on Monday night. He's in his late seventies and this shouldn't have happened had the doctors at the General Hospital been more reactive and attended to his illness immediately. On Sunday night, he complained of pain in his right chest and every 2 to 3 months, he has blood test done and everything was normal. But on that day, they discovered that he has anemia and low blood pressure. Well, due to the incompetency of the doctors at GH, he could not be saved on time and passed on. My aunt, naturally was very disheartened that a simple symptom like this could cause death due to delay. Had they been rich or have insurance covered, they would have gone to a private hospital where care is more personalized and professional. I remember the good times we spent together when I was young and my uncle was the one who arranged with his nephew pilot to have me seated in the cock pit en route to Singapore for my junior college scholarship studies. I could not attend the funeral tomorrow but I wish him divine mercy and grace.

Making Money is Fun

I am still gainfully employed with the same company for the last 9 years. Making money is certainly fun with this employer where I get a chance to work from home. Plus the fact that I am most productive when working all alone in a home office with no disturbance from office colleagues. This is the ideal job for me. It is also my longest employment that I will never seek greener pastures elsewhere. I love this job as it is easy to accomplish albeit with many work at times. The employer is also my good friend and we get along just fine. I can also take power naps in between work when I am tired. I could not ask for more and will try my utmost best to work for as long as possible so that the company is profitable at all times or 90% of the time. God has indeed blessed me with a dream job to work in a home office that is equipped with multi-functional printer, scanner, copier, fax machine and a digital camera.

We also took the opportunity to watch Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra entitled 18th Century Evocations featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, etc. The dress code was smart casual and they have relaxed it a bit from long sleeve formal batik. No shorts, slippers, sports shoes are allowed. It was an enjoyable experience on the whole. It makes working hard more meaningful when we are able to spend a little now and then while taking a break from work.

Too Many Con Men

There are so many con men in the internet! They mask behind good looking Caucasian men and pretend to be successful professionals. But in reality, they could be Nigerian students working from computer labs in school. The moment they start asking for money, I drop them immediately like an epidemic. Real men who are successful and financially stable will never ask a woman for money. Period! I have read too many articles in the press and internet of naive women in love being conned of their lifelong savings, all wiped out due to blind love for someone who are not what they really are. Thank goodness for the spirit of discernment in me and suspiciousness to be easily taken in by con men.

Working from Home means the World to me

The present company that I work for since the last 9 years is not big nor prestigious, but it pays reasonably well and the fact that I work from a home office, means the world to me. We have been blessed with constant projects month after month since it was founded in 2004 when I started working here. It is true, that our lives revolve around earning a good income and we have to study hard in order to secure a better job so that we can earn money money! Conflicts and divorces arise due to money problems and this is evident in my boss' life. Now that he has money, his wife who wanted to divorce him, wants him back for herself. But time and the years of being apart might change this situation. So, it is true that money makes the world go round! Crimes are commited due to lack of money! Murders and robbery take place because of poverty and inability to hold on to a job!

Going Back for Chinese New Year

Early tomorrow morning, I shall take Firefly propeller plane back to Penang from Subang low cost terminal airport. The cost was RM 391.00 one way with surcharge and airport tax. The following day, will take Air Asia to fly down to Singapore for Chinese New Year and hopefully to collect big, big ang pow. I have to bring along 2 red blouses - one for reunion dinner and one for CNY day itself. I might just visit The Sands Resort and other attractions in Singapore. Well, it has been 13 long years since my last trip back to Penang to recuperate after 12 years of studying and working there. Time for a more laid back lifestyle and this job to work at home fits me perfectly well. No other person can fill my shoes.

Love my JOB

For most people, a JOB is Just Over Broke. But for me, I just love it! Though it can get a bit boring at times, sitting by the computer all alone, but nevertheless, I love it – simply for the fact that I can work in my own pace and time. No office politics or nosy supervisor to look over your shoulders. In fact, most of the time, I will be listening to music in the background or napping in between. It would be a luxury to most for this type of job which I cannot trade for anything else. God has found a calling for me in this vocation where only I can handle and one that suits my capabilities well enough.

Welcome 2013

2012 ended on a high note and 2013 dawned with colourful display of fireworks. I have made some good income, in the region of 6 figures last year and it has been profitable for the business. Moreover, I also earn from my bonds and fixed deposits from the various banks. I got back most of the money I put into insurance when I surrendered the policy in November as I have too many policies which are pointless! Just pray for God's continual blessings this year, as He has blessed me with last year and the preceding years. More importantly, it is His protection that I need 24/7 for the rest of my life, so that I can continue to work and earn an income with my computer. Don't plan to retire so soon yet, as I have many more fruitful years to contribute to the business and the nation, indirectly.
