[Videos] Shopping in Mercato Supermart, Gurney Plaza, etc.

Listen to the new groovy music that is royalty-free from a site that I just discovered while window-shopping. It is indeed cathartic in this pandemic and stress of insufficient money for many people, who are out of jobs. I can still count my blessings and thank God daily. There are groceries, fresh veggies, fruits, seasonings like Carbonara sauce in a bottle, dry foods, frozen foods and seafood for the purchase.

Today is Christmas Eve!

Now, it's that time of the year again for a yuletide season and Jesus is the reason for the season! It's Christmas eve today. Tomorrow, we will treat the family to a simple Western lunch somewhere. Since it is still MCO here, in Malaysia, we did not go to Genting Highlands as we used to in every Christmas time. So, to stay safe, we decided to stay at home here in Penang. It's never boring for me, because I shall have sometime to do daily.

Below is my certificate of completing a Social Media Management course from Coursera that was sponsored by MDEC.

So, you see, my days are pretty preoccupied with online learning and marketing of Atomy while doing some homework for the test and quizes.

Below is a picture of my Maybank AMEX premier card for Tesco RM 50 voucher that arrived yesterday, in time for my Christmas shopping!

Finally, have a lovely Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas lunch with your loved ones and pamper them while they are still alive! Below is my final picture of Christmas Eve greeting with splendid message and composition.

Stay safe and stay at home, people. Always wear a mask when going out to public places.

Stay at Flamingo Hotel and a Always Wear Your Mask in This Covid-19 and in the Lift

This shows our last minute change of plans from travelling to Terengganu for a meeting to an unplanned stay in Flamingo Hotel, Penang for a night. The director couldn't make it at the last minute while we were travelling on Penang Bridge and luckily it was just the start of the long journey by road. Well, it is unfortunate that our plane fare booked via Malindo Air website had to be exchanged to travel vouchers instead of returning us the money. This cost the company about $1.7k for a return flight for 2 pax. We also had to cancel our booking that is non-refundable via Agoda.com and lost $500 thereabout for 2 nights in Grand Continental.

To be frank, it was rather stressful, having prepared the PowerPoint slides show presentation and tidy up the bits and pieces to encounter this 11th hour change. I can only pray to our Heavenly Father to help us out in this predicament; who sees a helicopter view of what's actually happening. Anyway, I created another humorous video below to de-stress, with a lesson of always putting on your mask especially in the lift and in this covid-19 pandemic, so as not to spread any virus nor contract it.

Today is the first of September and I am grateful for the blessings that come, no matter what, especially in this mayhem caused by the virus that has wrecked global economy and speed up recession worldwide. This video above is a MUST SEE, as it is so funny watching it repeatedly. It certainly relates to most of us, especially for those staying in highrise or condominiums and apartments with lifts.

Yesterday was our National Day on 31st August in Malaysia.

Above is a lovely "Good Morning" and "Happy Tuesday" Instagram pictures from my account. I will occasionally post these beautiful pictures for posterity on my Instagram and look through them as a reminder of the times that pass by.

Below is another Instagram picture. Enjoy!

My Working Trip in Langkawi in 1998

This was my working-cum-holiday trip to Langkawi in 1998. Yes, 2 years before this Covid-19 pandemic. That is why you don't see me wearing a mask then. Those were the carefree days from this virus outbreak.

There were scenic shots till the end, you will see the various panoramic landscapes of the beautiful, untouched island of Langkawi, with many duty free items for sale like liquor, chocolates, batik, perfumes, floral cutleries, and many other high-end items.

There are many activities to do in Langkawi, such as, island hopping by boat, snorkelling, take a short helicopter ride who get a bird's eye view of Cenang Beach Bay, see the beautiful sunset by the horizon on a yatch, visiting many places of tourists' attractions, and more.

This little island is jam-packed with tourism industry. There are many cashew nuts, pistachios, and chocolates that you cannot find in the usual malls of other parts of Malaysia.

This is what makes Langkawi so special where tourist from locals and foreign countries flock here and patronise the restaurants, shopping malls, etc. There are enough bad news flying around the media worldwide and even locally. Hence, I shall dwell the carefree days then to stay happy and cheerful.

Sometimes, we all need a break from the monotony of work and work and blogging is my passion. Simply because I can pen my thoughts freely, without anyone telling me what to write and such. There is this freedom that you get to enjoy as you blog your musings and also rants. Okay, stay safe and practise social distancing, everyone.

As today is a Monday, the first day of the week, I would like to cheer us up with the lovely yellow themed picture from my Instagram account.

Splendid Ocean Theme of Chinese New Year Decorations in Queensbay Mall

I was in Queensbay shopping mall yesterday and took the liberty to video record the awesome decorations of an ocean theme. There was a giant inflatable oyster with a shiny pearl, even the floor has an ocean theme and such. I was there during dinner time to drink avocado mixed with pineapple juice, and 'Hokkien' beehoon. I am also trying to lose weight, and have gone down to 72kg from 80kg. I still need to lose some weight for a healthier BMI. My doctor had advised me to avoid sugars and complex sugar like carbohydrates present in rice, bread, and noodles.

As you can see from the video, the decorations filled up the entire central atrium, with giant bubbles hanging from the ceiling and sea creatures with seaweeds and algae, etc. When I recorded this splendid video and put it on my Instagram account, I was followed by QueensbayMall Instagram. Apparently, they like my video of almost the whole decoration taken from the 2nd or 3rd floor, I cannot quite recall. Anyway, enjoy my work.

Awesome Chinese New Year Decorations in Gurney Drive's 2 Upscale Shopping Malls, Penang

Above is a video taken by me of the beauty of Gurney Plaza Chinese New Year (CNY) Decorations with neon lights, music, and the 1970s era of time. Even the floors have floor stickers of pebbles and decorations. I can feel the atmosphere of CNY coming with the festive season just around the corner. We will have a simple reunion dinner of ala carte meals each; just 4 of us since dad has gone to be with Jesus. The video speaks for itself; and if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth a million words!

Above is another short video taken at Gurney Paragon when Gurmit Singh of the comedy "Phua Chu Kang" fame who was the invited host for the count down to 2020. Now Gurney Paragon is next to Gurney Plaza with 2 towers of Condominiums above. However, Gurney Plaza is more popular since it was managed by the Capital Land of Singapore. The REITs ticker name is CMMT, of which I have a few lots. At the moment, it is not doing so well but gives dividends regularly. So there, you have it, 2 videos of the high-end shopping malls in Gurney Drive, Penang
